The famous blogging networks are earning well so they can well check with different settings on their blogging networks like the common question troubling most of the bloggers today is the design of their blog – whether their blog article should be fully visible on the homepage or it should be just a partial post. Both the arguments have equal amounts of choices people make so it’s surely a win-win situation for both the people who choose to show partial posts or full posts on their home page. Any blogger would love to see more traffic on their blogs but it does not happen overnight as it requires due patience and knowing what your readers want to read on your blogs.
The big question is whether people should be using more tags or should display the whole article on their homepage. Even if you had been not using more tags all this while, I am sure you would have surely come across them perhaps
unknowingly. More tags helps you have better view of the website by displaying more posts on the main page of the site. Here are some of the advantages and disadvantages of using more tags on your site:
Advantages
- The first and the foremost advantage is that it helps you display more posts on the homepage of the site.
- The more tags help you increase your page views. For example. Someone comes searching by a particular keyword to read on your article on the homepage. He might get interested to read other articles displayed on the homepage and there by you increase the number of people on your website.
- More tags help you increase the visibility of the most important paragraph on your blog. Your reader would then be more willing to switch to the next page to see more view of the main article. The most important paragraph on your blog would stand out from the rest making your readers eager to read on the full posts.
- The main purpose of more tags in your paragraphs is to save the space on your homepage. The extra space helps you put in more icons and other advertisements on the main page. There is very less probability of readers sharing your article with their followers unless without reading the whole article but when you present them the option besides the article itself, they might be more than willing to share it.
Disadvantages
There might be several ways in which more tags may sound beneficial in getting more readers on your site. But some bloggers may not find it very easy going with their websites.
- Some users get very less time in reading blogs and moreover they do not even find a need to read article further especially with the more tags. With more tags, the user may to have make an extra click which may take more time. Any reader would like to have hassle free reading and with more tags they might have to spare a little more time reading the blog further.
- The attention spans are getting shorter. If a reader gets interested in reading the first paragraph of your blog and then further needs to read it, he will have to click the more tag icon and that may require to have more time and in the mean time they might loose interest and may focus on other work.
- Sometimes as we write articles, your creativity starts flowing once you get in to the flow of writing a particular subject topic and that creativity might start when you are in the middle of the article. While the most important part of your article are the first paragraphs that determines whether your blog is interesting. Most of the readers make decisions to read your article after reading first few lines. The most important part of your article may not be displayed on the homepage of the blog with the use of more tags. If the full posts are displayed, your users can easily have a flying look on the rest of your article and may want to share it.
