If my reader is in to business then he or she is aware of the waves a business follows. At times the business offers a flat turnover while on other occasions it flourishes. When the small businesses face the flattening of growth, they are often suggested by the financial consultants to go through a steady spending strategy. The small business houses throw money randomly with the hope that it will bring steady growth. But very few and thoughtful entrepreneurs realize that during the passive business hours a way remains to revive the business, which costs them close to nil. An aggressive customer care and customer retention program can bring back the business in the right track.

The first task in the customer care and retentions is to retain the current clients. It is a least debatable statement that a customer will find a company good to invest upon only when you delight them. To delight them the best possible way is to listen to them carefully. The art of listened with keen attention is the most valuable skill a businessman can have. Only listening will make you capable of knowing what a customer wants from you. And that gives you the scope to offer that they have desire and eventually you delight them.

A business earns customers during different time phases and as the company moves ahead it makes the mistake of keeping its old customers in backburner. Whether a customer made during the early days of the business or during the current time period, all of them needs to be valued equally. This calls for the need to activate the customers who have been out of contact for a long time. There can be many reasons why your ties severed from old customers. It is time to revive them. There can be fault from your end or from your employee’s end in treating or managing the customer problem in past. Try tracking down the problem by conducting extensive surveys where you give your old customers the full freedom to express their grievance. It can be either email or can be a telephonic discussion, though I prefer the later.

These two proven methods can rebound your business since customers are the main driving force of a business. And as a business owner one needs to comply with the fact that re-signing of an old customer is cheaper than courting a fresh client.

What can make a brand spread like fire within the consumers? Probably my readers will come up with the reply of good marketing, a smashing logo that can create a different identity for itself. When a product is a sure winner, businesses keep searching for a killer logo and they end up making a logo design that makes their product stand apart even in a rack full of similar items. Today brand doesn’t hinges on the logo; rather logo is just a part of the entire brand building of a company. The idea of creating a jaw-dropping, killer logo doesn’t is now an obsolete idea and many people seems to bank on this antiquated concept and are losing in vying with their modern counterpart.

Today the market has changed a lot and especially the consumers have gone through a radical change in terms of their preference and their analytical power. The modern pool of consumers demands more than a stunning and catchy logo as they wish to experience the difference in terms of feel, personality and usability. The brands are flourishing in the market now and even the smallest companies are making thoughtful logos for brand building. Amidst the rat race a company has to provide something else and different that can keep them aside from their contenders.

The website of a company has substantial importance and it is an online manifesto that offers every business a scope to expand on web. Hence, it can be our center of focus where branding can be done through a stunning logo design and placing it on the website’s home page. If I take the case of Amazon then I can explain my point clearly. Amazon offers access to users to almost all the books available under the sun. The navigability of their site and the user-friendly features and shopping cart features has made it win the rat race of e-stores to day let alone the smooth payment and punctual delivery system. Now if we take away the logo of Amazon what difference it makes? Perhaps very little as users identify Amazon with the stock of books, smooth site navigability and the on-time delivery more then its logo.

Branding is like jig saw puzzle where one of the tessellating pieces in logo design but there are various other pieces that make up the branding together. I still wonder why log received to much fame.

Business in any platform hinges on the mean to connect with people and making the happenings within an enterprise known to as many people as possible. In this regard, online email marketing serves a good way of connecting with people. But in many cases email marketing inhibits the entire purpose of connecting with people. Not that this kind of marketing makes people drift away form an organizations, it is rather because the enterprise behind the email marketing makes several short mistakes. Or should I write, companies spend short time on thinking up the effective ways for email marketing and perform it as a mandatory task.

Email marketing by now has become a common mean for marketing and most companies use this method to draw attention. But being a common concept of marketing doesn’t imply that it is a boring way to draw customer attention or it is antiquated now and you need a fresh marketing method. Being a little meticulous in the process can make this marketing mean a sure win strategy for many.

Just few days I found an email for job application where the mail was addressed to someone else. I immediately recalled those online companies who do this blunder very often. Usually a catchy headline makes people click on promotional mails and the moment they see someone else has been addressed it doest takes few seconds to throw it off in trash.

My personal experience of bungled email marketing is many and of late I came across a mail where a company announced for a new show on automobiles. I was intrigued by the auto show and quickly signed only to find that I done have time to reach it anymore as hardly 2 minutes is left for the show to start. I could not leave my home right away and it is for sure that will prefer stay off from any email that comes from the respective company. This mistake is counting numbers as many companies go for email marketing of their shows or concerts at the eleventh hour. It is always advisable to do this marketing with enough time in hand.

Good email marketing will consider personalizing to that extent where a recipient will feel the email as an important letter to go through. It is better to drop the style of writing “dear Sir/Madam” and writing the name instead. This gives personal touch to it and much of attention can be obtained through it. Besides, a company using email marketing option must give an authentic link that allows a recipient to sing off from the newsletter and other promotional mails of a company. You may find it to be setback for your business as you are digging your own grave by offering a way to exit to your customers. But at the end of the day, this link will imply how much value you offer to your customer’s time.

The disaster in Japan gave away several messages for the economy and health of people around the world. The people got wired in other countries as the nuclear meltdown was made intense by the media channels. But how many of us do know the connection of Japanese disaster with the content writing on the web? Probably no one knows about this connection and my question seems a sassy one which leaves people with no clue at all. But web writers who are engaged in blog writing need to know the connection. It is all about marketing and bringing the traffic into your site. Every time loans of content never helps and at times searching for concrete information can make your blog a hub for useful info.

The residents of Japan know the fact that media channels have made the disaster much more hyped than it actually is. Whether this is done to earn the Japanese victims some extra grant, or to fulfill the marketing need of media channels that is a debatable issue. But the fact is known to Japanese people and also the foreign residents in that country that their present situation is all too often presented exaggeratedly or in a wrong way by the mainstream media. Web Writers within the field of blog writing for web need to be more focused. A disaster is a good byte for the mainstream media to earn revenue. But the underlying fact of a news channel is to inform people with factual heft that can keep them off from worries. The media channels tendency of inflating news is now a known fact form many individuals.

The disaster in Japan has opened an avenue for the individuals in blog writing field to come up with some informative write-ups that explain the real stories of Japan. Collecting tweets for JPQuake in Twitter will load of news about the latest development in Japan. People and media channels in Japan in Twitter are offering tweets for the Japan quake and these come from places where people are aware of the exact incidents that are taking place there. There are few Japanese media channels that broadcast news in English language like NHKWorld and Japan Today. These channels provide bunch of real development that are taking place in Japan rather than the ones that are over narrative. There are quite straight forward news about Japan’s disaster in blogs like Japan Probe and Gakuranman. These blogs have presented true news of Japan and have also presented criticism of the mains stream media. Such resources will give the blog writers a new and peppy topic to write on while the readers will also find something fresh.

I don’t think it takes a genius to figure out that the better your copy is, the more customers you’re going to be able to get to come to your business and the more attention you’ll get. But the thing is that most of the quality copywriting services cost you an arm, a leg and your first newborn to get the job done, and if you’re a business that is running on a very tight budget, there is no way that you can afford any of them. So what do you do then…just ignore the marketing side of things and just soldier on? No, you don’t. Instead, I recommend you turn to free copywriting services instead.

Got your attention there, didn’t I? Using the ‘F’ word almost always does. The free service that I mention is provided by none other than you. You can make some great copy for your business even if you don’t believe for a single moment that you can. Imagine that…free copy whenever you want it, personalized to your business and of a high quality. But just how do you go about doing so?

Observe the customers

Talk to your clientele and ask them to talk to you about your business. Find out how your customers view your product/service and this itself can give you a part of your copy. I think the best way to do this is to use it in a small questionnaire hosted on Google Docs. Also mention that any responses can be used for any purpose, don’t forget that!

Weed out the non-buyers

Anyone that is not a buyer, but still responds to the questionnaire should be ignored as their responses might be unrepresentative of your audience. You can use their response to target others, but not your target audience.

Eliminate the definite buyers

The point of copy is to get someone to say “yes” where they might have said “maybe” or “no” previously. If someone is already a buyer, they don’t need to be convinced at all. So weed out the sure-shot buyers as well.

Copy paste away to glory

Understand what motivates your customers and you will be able to sell better to them. Use their words from the survey and you will seem more believable and personable.

Tailor the comments

Rephrase the comments and generalize as much as you can, making it more relevant for your target market. Don’t be too fancy with your language and just try to use your customers words as far as possible, that’s all there is to it. It really is that simple to come up with great copy.

I was in tears. After watching the Youtube video of a model walking on a ramp before wobbling and falling for the umpteenth time, I was laughing so hard I had tears streaming down my face and my stomach was aching from all the laughter. It’s amazing how typing in “bloopers” into Youtube can give you such devastatingly hilarious results. News, fashion, sports, you name it and someone somewhere has screwed up. Next thing you know, bang! They’re an internet celebrity, like that Tron Kid or the Afro Ninja. God, I can spend hours laughing at it, but then I realized; we all make Youtube bloopers at some point or the other, we just don’t realize it.

Youtube is an excellent way to spread the word about your product, but just so many of these videos have their own errors. Some of them are strewn with errors, some have small niggling ones that still stand out even though they’re small. Simple things like an unfocused camera or the excessive use of the word “um” can really grate on the nerves of your audience. And surprisingly, even professional media outlets are not immune to this amateurish display. You’d imagine that they are free from a case of Youtube bloopers, but that’s not the case. Take these simple mistakes as an example :

“Um…did I like, erm…screw up?”

Cut out the fillers. It does nothing to add to your message and just takes away a lot from it. To see today’s generation use “um”, “like” and “whatever” so freely gets on my nerves, but it’s worse when businesses also fall prey to “whatever-itis” when creating their marketing message. Know what you’re going to talk about before hand and keep it short.

Hold still

Who are you, Michael Bay? What’s with the jerky camera work? If I wanted to watch some camerawork where the subject was out of focus and all over the place, I’d watch the original Transformers movie, not a Youtube video. This is a cardinal sin, so keep that camera steady and stay focused. Use a tripod if you have to.

Look at me

If your video involves addressing people, look into the damn camera. Don’t look shifty and look away, you come off as untrustworthy or even completely disinterested. Keep your head moving at all times if you must, just like you would in a normal conversation.

This is a post aimed squarely at offering the basic information on affiliate marketing and offering affiliate marketing tips for beginners in the field. Now, let me make no qualms about it; most of these affiliate marketing tips are well known. I don’t have the magical cure for anyone’s affiliate marketing problems nor is any of this a secret. The only secret to success is a bit of hard work. That is as true for affiliate marketing as it is for any field of business or employment. I hope that this information will help you and that it saves you time and money (preferably both), but this is all over and above any hard graft that you put in yourself. There is no easy or quick route to success. There never was and there never will be.

Go with something you know

The most common question about affiliate marketing is where to begin. It is best to start with something you know something about. It might not result in the best conversion rate or the best commissions but it is easier to build an affiliate marketing network around something you know something about and are interested in. that means you can put a bit of yourself into the effort and you will be that bit more involved. Go with what you know and build from that point onwards.

Don’t be banner-iffic

Don’t overdo the banners. They are ugly. If anyone can achieve success in affiliate marketing by sticking on tons of banners, there’d be a lot of millionaires out there. Having tons of banners are a turn off, they are ugly and they detract from a site more than they contribute to it since it is such a turn-off. Dump them today.

Use multiple merchants

As said in the title for this section, use multiple merchants for the same niche. Pick merchants based on what you like and pick a few of them. This way, you will give visitors to your site multiple options to choose from rather than ramming just the one down their throats. It also has the benefit of showing to you what your visitors like to see and progress to and the relative performance of each merchant pitted head to head will give you a fair idea of the direction you need to take.

So, you have a online business and you laugh at the poor souls that have to pay rent each and every month. Well laugh all you want, but running an online business is no walk in the park either. Let’s take the example of Daniel Hallac, who runs a site called Kidmondo. Since the inception of his online business, he has discovered that keeping a hold of credit-card information is not something that is up his alley. He’d rather leave it to the specialists, as also customer service and the evolution of a sales strategy. Marketing and confidentiality of the information it creates is perhaps the largest challenge for online businesses in an interconnected world.

Malls, for instance, will be able to generate foot falls by using the name of the brand store’s it has. But how do you do that for an online business? You’d have to find a way in order to generate that traffic for yourself by way of a clever sales strategy. Finding customers online can be a very tricky proposition. If you were to setup an online store on eBay or Amazon, that traffic is taken care of. But your margins will be so low as you’re competing with people globally, not just locally or nationally. If you’re a large business with deep pockets, you can throw away those dollars in lieu of a sales strategy, but those without cash will have to come up with a proper sales strategy and improve their sales in more ingenious ways.

The key is to help your customers find you, and the cheapest way to do this is to get your profile listed on Google’s products page as well as other fee-for-service sites. Also consider search engine optimization, which will push your business up the ranks of businesses being searched for. Search engine optimization will mean building search terms into the copy you use on your website and building it into the sites code so that you’re easier to find for anyone. There is also affiliate advertising and its networks. The business model of these services and networks means that business owners will pay for ads only when someone buys something.

Then there’s good old Facebook and Twitter, and they can drum up a lot of attention for you. And of course, the price is great; it’s always free. But while you don’t need to pay anything, it should still look professional and not sleazy in the slightest. How odd would it be if someone clicked on a page that touted pizza deals only to be taken to a page that talked of offers on pasta instead? Give people exactly what they’re looking for rather than pointing them out to the range of products you might have.
