Are you posting out of Obligation or Free Will? PART I

Submitted in Blog Writing Essentials, Blogging on February 17, 2010 No Comment

Nearly, half of our lives go in worrying about future but why can’t we just sit back and enjoy life as it comes. Well, I know its easy to say but when it comes from a practical point of view it becomes a little difficult and planning in advance becomes a MUST especially when you are in a blogging industry. For a while now, I had been blogging on and on till the day I started getting negative talks from my fellow bloggers. Sometimes, blogging by compulsion has become a pressurizing assignment, which you have to finish at the end of the day, but are we really concerned about the quality.

I have always stressed on the quality aspect of a content, unless you are interested in writing what you want to write how can you be creative or rather have a sense of writing something attractive? Well, let me clear some points here rather some arguments whether is it worth writing blogs even if you are not ready for it? Blogging, doesn’t just mean writing content, a lot of things goes in to preparing a blog, researching the keywords, finding suitable SEO consultant, managing updates, building links, and lots more things. Some bloggers, out of compulsion keep dragging themselves to provide new posts to their users each day but fall short of the correct information they might want to share with theirblogging motivation users but because of time constraints they just write anything out of world.

Blogging had never been so easy, believe me, when you start a blog, you take up lots of responsibility not just for your blog even for your users who are your followers. Blogging is a motivational field, if you are motivated, you write out of will and not compulsion.

  • Blogging disciplines you:

If you let go your blogging schedule in the air thinking you will write when you are free its not going to make any sense to your blog or either you. A fixed set schedule will help you plan things in advance and research well about the topics you want to write on and perhaps that may be what your users are expecting from you.

  • Consistency:

You got to be consistent while once you start your blog. If you occasionally keep breaking your posting schedule, it can have worst effect on your blog and day on day you will feel procrastinating. The best advice I can give is to be consistent and write in the fixed schedule.

  • More to talk about:

As you become regular blogger on your blogs, you become more aware about what your users want to read so accordingly you get more encouraged to bring them the finest of articles and information to share with them. Create a niche for your self and keep blogging.

  • Helps in building a community:

Whatever efforts you put in your blog is going to yield you some good results. Your readers would be happy with you that you are providing them with some useful information that they are looking to read from you.

For a while when your blog is new, it doesn’t matter if you are irregular with updates on your blog but when it becomes popular, it may be quite upsetting for your loyal readers. You may find decrease in the amount of readers, loss of interest and hence a decrease in the over all revenue. But there is some deeper aspect to the game, not putting your posts on a regular basis can actually be fruitful for your community, but how, we see in my next blog!
